Renting a car from Postojna

I doubt it. It is a very small place.

You would need to find a bigger city. Where are you coming from, and how are you getting to Postojna?

Oh that is sad to hear. We are flying to Trieste from Malta , staying in Grobišče which is about 3.5 km from Postonja.

Thing is we already booked and paid in advance the trip from and to the airport as otherwise we would have picked up the car from the airport. Though maybe it is not a good idea either because we are 4 adults and 2 kids so we should have quite a lot of luggage and would need a bigger vehicle.

I'm unclear on where you are trying to go from Postojna.

I think there may be trains (albeit running infrequently) to Trieste, plus both trains and buses to Ljubljana and Koper. Koper's probably close enough to Trieste (less than 15 miles) that a taxi wouldn't break the bank; I don't know how difficult it would be to arrange the cross-border trip.

Another possibility would be the shuttle service GoOpti. I know it serves Ljubljana and probably Trieste. I don't know about Postojna.

We would like to rent a car from Postojna as it is close to where we will be staying . We have already booked and paid with GoOpti from Trieste and back.
Initially we weren't going to rent a car as otherwise we would have probably booked a car from Trieste but recently, my son in law decided he would drive....
This is the reason we are checking for renting a car from Postojna so we could visit other places in Slovenia during the week .

In the meantime I have been checking for buses and trains but for practical reasons plus with 2 small kids having a car seems a better option.

One person could still pick up a van in Trieste. You’ll need a van to seat 6. You’ll take a loss on the airport transportation for that one person, if you can’t get a refund. And expect the rental to be very expensive.

I just noticed that you said ' expect the rental to be very expensive' but I have seen very reasonable prices listed
Some 4 seaters start from less than €200 per week.
Obviously we need a bigger car because of the kids.
How much do you think we are expected to pay?
