We will be flying into Ljubljana & renting a car for our week in Slovenia. Our next destination will be the Istrian Peninsula where we will rent a new car (ideally the western coast), so we need to return the car in Slovenia in order to avoid a large drop off fee. What cities should we be looking at that will have an agency location for the drop off? Any suggestions for rental companies to use? Also, we will need a transfer to Istria, so I'm thinking GoOpti unless someone has additional ideas? Travel by bus is not an option for us due to severe motion sickness with that method of transportation. Recommendations for the best place to rent a car once we are in Istria? (that car will most likely be returned in Split) Thank you!

Koper or Portorož.
Any suggestions for rental companies to use?
I used Hertz twice in Slovenia without difficulty.

We rented a car from a hotel in Ljubljana and used it for a loop through Slovenia. We returned it to the same hotel and walked to the train station to take a train to Rijeka. Upon arrival, we walked over and rented a car from Oryx at the harbor which we used for 10 days in Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia, returning it in at the Dubrovnik airport to take our flight out.
