We are ending a RS Tour in Bled in mid May. I've done some research on transportation options from Bled to Hallstatt. Im leaning towards hiring a private driver for this because it is SO much faster, and probably worth the extra $$. We don't want to rent a car, everything else we're planning to do is easily done with buses and trains. My question is has anyone ever used this option and what did you think? They also offer a couple of stops for a fee that seem interesting too.
What company?
We used Ck Shuttle for some trips in the area- they run small group shared vans. If they offer your route, I'd recommend them. Have a great time.
We thoroughly enjoyed an overnight in Hallstatt. It's beautiful and charming. I know it can be overrun but when we were there in 2017 it was not. I've never been to Slovenia, but when I look at the photos of Lake Bled, it looks like Hallstatt, so I"m just thinking that it may not be worth a 3 hour one way drive as a day trip. But beauty is beauty, so there's not a wrong decision, especially if you are making other stops!
Try DayTrip.com. Used them a few times last year. Did a good job. One trip was Salzburg to Hallstatt.
www.Daytrip.com will do the Bled-Hallstatt shuttle transfer for 2 people for $300 and up.
Thanks everyone for your comments. I decided to book with DayTrip. It's a huge time saver! Since we don't want to drive, this seems worth the cost. Im excited to relax for a couple of days in Hallstatt before some busy days in Salzburg.
I will offer another endorsement of Daytrip.com. I have used them multiple times... excellent English-speaking drivers every time I have used them. And the drivers have always been willing to share their thoughts on the country and their experiences.
Do keep in mind that these are long distance Ubers, not tour guides. Tell them where to go and they will get you there in grace and style. What they might know about what you see along the way is blind luck. I like'em.
