I am driving from Plitvice Lakes on June 23rd to Bovec, Slovenia. Does anyone have suggestions of where to stop on the way? I am staying in Ljubljana for five nights and will take day trips to Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj, etc. so I don't want to stop there. I'm hoping for some great suggestions! I am driving to Bovec the same day so I’m looking for some stops along the way.

Well, you don't say if this is a day drive, or if you have the option of 1 or
more nights to spend on the way.
But assuming you are looking for more than a place to sleep, Skocjan
Cave is along the way, and while its not far from Bovec, so is Kobarid.

Are you looking for a sightseeing stop along the way, or for a spot to stay for a night or two? That factors into suggestions.

Take a look at Idrija. It is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. We stopped there and had a fascinating demonstration at their lace school.

Take the route through Rijeka and visit Postonja caves or stop in Tolmin fir the gorge or in Kobarid or the museum.
