Places to visit in Lake Bled for 2 days

Dear Friends

I will be visiting Lake Bled for 2 days in the month of October.

Can you tell me the places which I must see / cover during my stay in Lake Bled. Amongst others, I also intend to visit Lake Bohinj from Lake Bled.

Kind regards

i just read your other question, if you like old buildings I would recommend making a long day of taking the hand rowed ferry over to the island in the middle and perhaps tour the church....walk around the lake and up the hill to the castle GORGEOUS, and a fabulous place for lunch.....and then around the balance of the lake. pretty, pretty, pretty!!!

we stayed at Mulej bled turist farm

We hiked Pokljuska Soteska, Vintgar Gorge - amazingly beautiful green water, and Slap Savica Falls at Lake Bohinj.

Eat sea bass and pesto risotto at Osterija Peglez'n on the lake.

We had a blast !

Hey Rick,

While on tour with RS in 2013, we visited a bee keeper (Blaz, was his name) and got some education on Slovenian bee keeping that we found interesting, along with all the other suggestions here. It is a beautiful area.

We were in Slovenia last summer. RS highly rates the caves in his book. We went to one of them (Postojna) and I wish we hadn't. We absolutely loved Slovenia and felt like our 4 days there wasn't enough to enjoy it. It makes me a bit sad that we wasted at least half a day underground! While we were at the caves, we also went to Predjama Castle, another RS recommendation. Again, there are so many great things to experience in Slovenia and looking at Predjama Castle (RS doesn't recommend actually taking the indoors tour) definitely wasn't our highlight.

We absolutely loved Ljubljana. If you can, make a day trip into Ljubljana, which is not far at all from Lake Bled, and enjoy exploring the old town for a day.
