We will be traveling from Vipava Valley area by car to Izola and Piran mid September . I welcome any thoughts or suggestions.
Should we stay in Piran or Izola ? Would like to just chill for a day from traveling ,sightseeing. . Swim, nice seafood meal , drinks and relax. Any hotel suggestions, small low rise hotel. Thank you
I would recommend Piran. Memento B&B is excellent -- right off Tartini Square, the city's main square.

Just spent the last two nights of our 8-night Slovenia trip (17-day trip in total) on Plaza Fiesa. It’s a short walk from the beach to town on a cobblestone path. It was nice to have a true beach day, but enjoy the town of Piran when we wanted to venture to town. Hotel Barbara where we stayed has cabanas to rent for 30 EUR for the whole day (can be booked by hotel guests and non-guests alike). Made for a very relaxing end to an active trip.
