I looking for a place to stay near the old town section of Ljubljana. Would anyone recommend an area or place to stay for four that will allow us to both park a car and get to the nice downtown area?

Check out Slamic B&B. We were able to park our car here, and were only a few blocks from the square.

Two years ago, I stayed at the Penzion Pod Lipo, two blocks from the city's main street and a five-minute walk to loads of restaurants, shops, plazas, etc. along the lively riverfront part of town. The owner speaks perfect English and is very helpful with tips, information and even local maps. He loaned me a couple of maps so I could find my way more easily by bicycle up to the Slovenian Alps. There is also off-street parking on site.

I'll cast another vote for Slamic B&B. Nice rooms, nice breakfast, good location (not within the old town but an easy walk), and free parking within a locked gate.
