My husband and I are travelling to Croatia and Slovenia in May. We have not yet purchased our plane tickets but are thinking of arriving in mid-May to explore the area for two weeks, roughly. We would love to explore the Lake Bohinj area and the Julian Alps but are wondering if the weather is apt to be cool and wet in May? We are retired and could travel in June as our schedule is flexible but we're hoping to avoid the main tourist season by travelling in May.
