Hello,
I need to get from Ljublian to Munich with two (possibly three) teenagers - all excellent travlers. Should I drive or fly? Cost/and scenic value are determining factors.

A direct train takes 6 hours or a direct bus takes 5 hours, operated by the Germany railway. See schedules and tickets through the DB link at How to Look Up Train Schedules and Routes Online.

Thank you Laura - another question please....try not to laugh if I sound stupid. Where would I get the Euro-City train in Munich (going Munich to Venice) - Ive looked on the DB site, but can't figure out what train station - is it the central station?

I'd take the train, personally. I've done Munich to Salzburg and then Salzburg to Ljubljana and both were easy trips. You catch the EC train to Venice at the main Munich train station (Munich HBF). Hope that helps!

Hbf is "hauptbahnhof" or main station. Depending on the train you are taking, it may also stop in various other stations in a city that may be more convenient for you.
