Logar Valley area

I checked out the hiking info given in the previous post for the Logar Valley area. Am wondering if it makes a difference logistically whether one stays in the Logar Valley, Robanov kot, or one of the other valleys. Does it take long to drive from one valley to another? I assume these are flat roads to drive.

Also, the Lenar Tourist Farm has been recommended. My husband does not want to stay in a place that it is too much "farm," (e.g., roosters crowing at dawn, farm animal smells). Would Lenar farm likely be OK for him?

It does not take long to drive from one valley to another. The roads between valleys are fairly flat.

Lenar Tourist Farm is not excessively farmy. It's more rural B&B than farm. I don't recall any farm smells. There was a rooster at a nearby farm that crowed in the morning.

They are easy to drive between. Just pick your favorite spot to stay and visit all.

Lenar is more of a B&B - it's more of a big grassy yard amidst the valley than "farm". They have a cute little goat that sometimes comes around, but they don't have a bunch of animals. However, I will say that the "point" of the Logar Valley is kind of enjoying the various farms that you visit to eat at amidst the hiking. They aren't traditional smelly large scale production farms but an aversion to the concept of being amidst the farms might mean it's not the right location for you all to enjoy.

Everything is relatively close and not too long of a drive to get from one area to another. Roads are paved and easy to drive. The Panoramic Road has a few parts that are unpaved, but we had zero issues in our small Audi A3 rental.

Last summer, we stayed a couple hundred meters from Lenar Farm at Hisa Ojstrica, which had phenomenal views down valley. It is surrounded by the charming farms but is more of a traditional hotel experience, although the service was much more intimate. Highly recommend.

Thank you all for your helpful replies. We now have a clear idea of the area and the types of places to stay. It sounds wonderful. We have booked a room at the Govc-Vrsnik farm. We thought it would be good to be in a place that served dinner if we didn't feel like going out, and we liked the photos of the lodging plus its positive reviews. I'm sure all places mentioned are equally very good as well.

We've eaten lunch at Govc-Vrsnik a couple times. They have a nice view from their outdoor patio and the lunch was good. I remember enjoying a soup they made. That farm is at the beginning of the Robanov Kot valley "hike". It is more of a scenic walk and you'll walk past some beautiful horse farms and it's so peaceful back in there. Definitely do that walk one day. There is a farm at the end of the valley walk where we had lunch one day - Robanova planšarija, Franjo Roban. It was a very Slovenian experience as the woman spoke no English at all so we just pointed to things on a little handwritten menu and she brought us some things we never had anywhere else in the month we spent in Slovenia. She serves everything out of her tiny little personal kitchen.

We just finished our stay at the Tourist LENAR Farm and it was most memorable. There are no farm smells. Everything was perfect here for our family of five. There are only two horses, a dog, a cat on their property and neighboring farm animals . The host family was so kind and the breakfast and service was warm welcoming and delicious. The rooms were inviting and comfortable with little special touches. If we ever make it back to the Logar region, we would only stay here. We ate a lovely dinner right across the road( walking) at Ojstrica. They had a nice menu with a beautiful view. We also went to Robanov Kot and had five course full dinner at the Tourist farm Govc-Vršnik. This felt like a traditional Slovenian Thanksgiving to us. Everything was fresh from their farm. There were many more farm animals at this tourist farm. I hope you enjoy your visit. It was wonderful for us.
