Hi all,
I am in the early stages of planning a two week trip to Slovenia for my partner and I next year and am looking for lodging recommendations in the Vipava Valley for two or three nights. There's a family connection which is why I want to spend a few days there--my father's maternal grandparents are from the area around Vipava (the village) and emigrated to the US in 1907. We will have a rental car which should give us some flexibility.

We stayed at Ferjancic Winery 2 years ago and loved it! Unexpected highlight of our trip.
The Vipava Valley is such a great area! We were there at the beginning and end of our 2024 trip to Slovenia. I highly recommend both places where we stayed.
Fine Rooms Vipava (via Booking.com) - right in the village of Vipava, making it easy to walk down to Bar at Marjanca for a simple breakfast each morning. Plus there are lots of great restaurants in the village.
G House (via Booking.com) in Dutovlje - charming small guest house with a great breakfast and a lovely host family.
We did not stay at Ferjančič Winery, but we went there for tasting and loved the wine, the vibe, and the owners.

Thank you for the recommendations! I was afraid the Vipava Valley might be too far off the beaten track that there wouldn’t be many options. Glad to see that there are!
