Hi,
We will be in Slovenia in late April and will have a car rental. Any recommendations for a hotel, Airbnb or VRBO with free (or reasonable price) parking and/or a place to park our rental if we stay in a place with no parking options?

We stayed in Radovljica because we were more interested in areas outside of the city. We had parking and were able to access other areas easily. We took the train to Ljubliana for a day trip. You don't need a car in the city itself.
I was hoping someone else would answer with more recent experience, but 8 years ago we stayed at Hotel Cubo (which we loved) and they had parking for free. It looks like they still offer parking, but now charge. However, the hotel is still getting great reviews.

I stayed at the City Hotel in 2019 without a car. I liked it. It definitely is NOT a small, family-owned Rick Steves kind of place. It's more commercial hotel and had a very busy breakfast area.
I also considered Slamič B&B, listed in the former RS Eastern Europe now RS Central Europe guide. The RS guide notes free parking, and multiple reviews on the Booking website mention the convenience of parking while still being within walking distance to the Old Town. It appears it now markets itself more as a hotel. It also seems a little more costly than I remember it being.

I stayed at the Hotel Slamic in 2024 and it was a lovely spot with a great restaurant. It was a 2 block walk to the Hertz car rental. When I left town, I had a 5 am train and they arranged for a taxi for me and packed me a breakfast for the train ride. It was a ways from more touristy city center but I really enjoyed the walk and not too far at all.
