Ljubljana or Lake Bled

We have 2 nights between two RS tours. Do we spend 2 extra nights at Lake Bled, at the end of a trip, or 2 nights in Ljublijana, at the beginning of the second RS trip?

I'd add the time in Ljubljana before the tour. I arrived a couple of days early in Ljubljana for my Adriatic tour this past May. There's a lot more to see and do there than in Lake Bled. I was there when the market was at it's peak - I think that was on a weekend.

I love Ljubljana. Not a big city, but charming and lively. You can do day trips (e.g. to Lake Bled but also elsewhere) by public transportation. It's a great place to come back to at night. The town of Bled is OK but nothing special (the lake is beautiful).

They are both good options. Would you prefer a small charming city with sidewalk cafes along the river, a castle to explore, and old town streets to wander? Or a beautiful lake with hiking and bicycling opportunities? Bled is not about the town; it is all about the lake. We spent four nights at Bled and two in Ljubljana and were happy with both.

Will you be spending time in either on your tours?

Lola asked the right questions.

We visited Ljubljana and totally enjoyed our day and evening in the charming town - we spent one night.
But we wanted to hike and bike and 2 full days in Lake Bled (3 nights) was not enough for all of the outdoor activities you can do.

So it truly depends on one's wishes - you cannot go wrong with either charming location !

Another vote for 2 extra nights in Ljubljana. This past September we added 2 extra nights before the Adriatic Tour. We stayed in a charming apartment on the river. We enjoyed the vibe, the cafes, the market area and walking this friendly city. We didn't want to leave.

I love Ljubljana. It is a beautiful city to explore. You can always do a day trip to Bled, also Postojna caves.
