Hi all. We will be staying in Ljubljana in early September for a week and want to take the bus out to Bled one day. I have been reading that the last few return busses in the evening can be a bit of a nightmare with them being full and people getting left behind. Is something I should consider (remembering we will be there just off peak season).

Looks like the latest bus at this time of year (maybe all year) leaves at 22:30; there are buses at 20:30 and 19:30 as well.
You can also take a train back to Ljubljana from Lesce-Bled station, a few km from the town of Bled. You would have to take a taxi there or a bus - but it would probably be the same bus that would go on to Ljubljana, so if you could get on that bus, might as well just stay on it. If not - get a taxi to the station and get there before the last train leaves at 20:49. You can buy train tickets on the train.
Sharing a taxi back to Ljubljana with one or two others who couldn'tnget on the bus probably would not break the bank. In 2015 there was a taxi driver with a small van who often showed up at the bus station shortly before the bus was due in, trying to fill his vehicle for the trip back to Ljubljana at 7 euros per head.
you can also look up train schedule - there is a train station up the hill behind the rowing club house by the lake.
