Itinerary help: Zagreb to Split via Slovenia!

I have also posted this in Croatia but thought I might get additional insights here.

We fly into Zagreb and currently are flexible on time/days.

I was thinking:
--Arrive Zagreb/overnight to recup
--Get car, drive to Ljubljana 2 nights
--To Lake Bled few hours; start Julian Alps loop. Overnight Bovec
--To Rovinj via Piran; overnight Rovinj
--Enjoy Rovinj AM; to Plitvice Park PM. Overnight Plitvice
--Park early; to Split in PM

I know it's a lot to pack in with multiple hotels, but we are fairly accustomed to that.

If you had 6-8 nights, how would you mix and match this better?

Thanks much!

Lake Bled and the Julian Alps loop in a single day is pushing it to the limits of what's possible, let alone enjoyable. You won't have time for more than a photo or two in Bled. You need a day to do the area around Lake Bled any sort of justice.

You won't get more than a passing glance at Istria either, but I guess you could make stops along the way from Bovec to Rovinj and Rovinj to Plitvice. You don't have to be at Plitvice too early in the evening anyway, there is not much to do there outside of the park. Lake Bled and the Julian Alps drive really should be done on separate days, though.

Depends when are you going. Main season is very busy, so I think impossible to do in such short time. Decide on Croatia or Slovenia. Bled at least one night, Soca Valley again one or two nights, Rovinj and Istria again at least two nights and Plitvice one night. Lots of driving and roads can be very busy and if you unlucky, border crossing can take an hour or more.

Lotta driving. It's possible, but may not be what you want. I would put down on a piece of paper location and day

Day
1 Zagreb
2 Drive Ljub -3 hours drive 1 hour find hotel, check in
3

Etc

Add in drive times, and look at it. Lot of driving not much touring.
