Hi steve! I'm planning to go to Europe in September and will be staying in Padua Italy for a couple of days. DO you know how to get from Padua or venice to Ljubljiana Slovenia for a day trip? thanks! we appreciate it!
Rick is sleeping now. Since it is about 1 hour by bus to Venice airport followed by a van transfer of just over 4 hours to Ljubljana, it is not really day trip material.
Venice, on the other hand is a good day trip on the train as it is about a half hour and fairly inexpensive (4.10 EUR) with fast Regionale Veloce trains every half hour in each direction.
Hi, you can catch a tram from Venice to Llubljiana which runs twice daily. Cost €22. For more details search on seat61.com
Enjoy!
There are also regular bus connections. But again, as Sam mentioned, it's a bit too far for a day trip. Consider staying a night or two instead, if you can. Otherwise, there are other day trip options from Padua, such as Venice, Bassano del Grappa, etc.
Rome2Rio is a good resource for looking at transportation options between cities!
I don't know what Amanda means by a "tram." Bus/van services are www.drd.si or www.goopti.com. They are faster and more direct than the train connections.
Thank you for all your tips! 👊🏼
