Hotels in Old Town Ljubljana

I always like to stay in the Old Town of a city when I'm in Europe. Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel in the Old Town of Ljubljana?

You already have some recs above, but I too will endorse City Hotel. Interesting story... the hotel was nationalized by Tito's regime but the owners were able to get the hotel back after Slovenia gained independence.

It is not a Rick Steves style mom-and-pop place. It feels more like a sleek, professional, modern hotel. I enjoyed staying there as a contrast to my 5 other lodging locations across Slovenia, all of which were mom-and-pop style places.

I got an email this morning from Hotel Mrak with a 15 % off VIP code they said I could share with friends and family. It's WELCOMEBACK

Naysayer here on City Hotel, unless you want a very basic stay. Our room was a strange configuration; poor lighting in both the room and the bath. Breakfast was an absolute madhouse; finding a seat was more than a bit challenging; tables are very close together. there were numerous food choices. On the plus side, the location of the hotel is very good. The next time we visit, I will look for other lodging.

The hotel Allegro located right at the entrance/exit to Old Town Ljubljana was wonderful for the five nights that I enjoyed there. Location was perfect for walking through Old Town and it was quiet. The service and personal attention were excellent. The breakfast buffet (with eggs to order) provided an extensive selection. It is an old hotel with no elevator, but the staff will carry up one's luggage. I highly recommend it!

Another plus for Hotel Mrak. We stayed there this summer (independently, not on RS tour) and found it to be very comfortable and a great location. Would stay again. I don’t know about the breakfast as we always like to find a bakery :)
