My wife and I are planning to a stay in Ljubljana for 5 days in early June this year. Rick Steve's suggestions seem to be booked and wondering whether other travelers could help with recommendations. Looking for a small to mid size family oriented hotel or pension located near the town center. Thx Bob

I stayed in Hotel Mrak with the tour. Not sure if that’s one that is unavailable. Ljubljana is a lovely city - reminded me some of Salzburg.

Though it was before COVID we also stayed at the Hotel Mrak and liked it very much. It is on a side street and we had no issues with noise. It is only a few blocks from the canal and we found it easy to walk where we wanted to go.

I also stayed at hotel Mrak. A few nice features not previously mentioned. Laundromat about 7 minutes down the same street. Self serve with instructions in English. Also, a pickup point for Slovenia Explorer Tours is just 1/2 block away. I took a great day tour to the caves with them in a van with 6 others and a guide.

We have stayed at City Hotel in Ljubljana. It was very convenient and just a few blocks from the Triple Bridge. Ljubljana is lovely!

I stayed at Penzion Pod Lipo back in 2016. The location was great with lots of nearby local cafes and easy walk to central sights. Comfortable, convenient, budget accomdation.
