We are 4 looking for a recommendation of a farm stay perhaps in the Lake Bled area and recommendations for in town lodging in Ljubljana
In Ljubljana we stayed right in the old town at Meščanka Apartments, and it was great. The location is down a pedestrian alley a few steps off the riverfront walk. They have rooms as well as apartments.
I will second Lola’s vote for Meščanka Apt.! Lola was kind enough to recommend this lovely apt and river view location for us in 2018. So grateful! If you are searching for a wonderful restaurant we recommend Juliya. It’s a 5 min walk from the river. We ate outdoors 3 times. Great vibe. What time of the year are you going?
Thank you both for your responses. Two thumbs up is a very good sign.
In 2011, we stayed in Hostel Celica. It is an old prison, converted into a hostel. We had 2 separate rooms - hostels today often have private rooms. We enjoyed it considerably. It's a easy walk to the Triple Bridge. There's a bar, where college students would often come to practice their English. In May 2022, a 2-person accommodation is $78. We also stayed in Hostel Tivoli. We're 68 and 71, but enjoy the hostels for the friendly atmosphere and youth of other patrons. As I note, we stay in hostels with private rooms. We only did the bunkhouse once, in Brasov, Romania. That was OK too, and really cheap.
