I am on a RS Adriatic 14 day tour this coming April/May and would like to see more of Slovenian in addition to Ljubljana and Lake Bled. Since I’m a retired woman traveling alone I do not want to rent a car. Any suggestions of a 2 or 3 night tour with a company?

First off, with just an extra couple nights on the table, and without a car I would simply stay in Ljubljana. It’s an easy add, and if you did nothing else but enjoy the city at a relaxed pace (especially after a packed tour itinerary) it would feel worthwhile. There’s also good day trip opportunities via local tour group operators. I’d recommend checking Slovenia Explorer and see if anything strikes your fancy. If price is no object, these companies are happy to tailor something to you. I did not use Slovenia Explorer, but found them very responsive, friendly and helpful.

You could easily spend two full days in Ljubljana and then use a tour guide to go to areas like Lake Bled or the various caves. We hired Ivan (Slovenian Guides) for two days of tours. He was great! One day was Lake Bled area, and the second was Novo Mesto and Trška Gora (small wineries area). We never rented a car and got around fine.
