We are traveling with four adults throughout Slovenia for 22 days this Sept. Based upon much of what I have read driving seems to give us the most flexibility to come and go as we want but mostly to see may of the areas that may not be served easily by public transportation. During one portion we will be driving from Lake Bled area to Kobarid. A simple Google map search on directions indicates it sill be approximately a 60 mile trip and we can take either a northern or southern route.
Tentative activities while in Lake Bled are the lake, the castle, Vintgar Gorge, Radovljica, and Lake Bohinj. In Kobarid we have penciled in the Soca Valley, Vrsic Pass Loop, Triglav Park, and the Grand Canyon of Soca. We have three nights planned in each location. Any comments or information about these tentative ideas welcome.
My real question is are there pros or cons to either the northern route or southern route? Will we be driving through areas we plan to see during our stay in Kobarid?
Thank you for thoughts
