has anyone done this treck? I'm seeing mixed messages...some say it is treacherous (lots of twists and turns) some say it is not.
any personal or recent experience would be greatly appreciated. I'll be there in early June.

I’ve driven on it lots of times. It’s fine, a bit curvy as it follows a narrow river valley and then climbs up to the Logatec highland but nothing you won’t have experienced in the Soca Valley beforehand. Some stretches have two narrower lanes as improvement works are still undergoing but it’s a perfectly serviceable road. You can check it on Google Street View if you want to familiarize yourself with what to expect.
If Logatec is not your final destination and you wish to continue northeastwards on the A1, you could also take the 103 to Nova Gorica and then the H4 to the A1. That route takes about the same time but is a bit more scenic in my opinion.
