Day trip to Logar Valley

My husband and I are traveling across Puglia, Croatia, Slovenia and Northern Italy the month of June. After staying in Ljubljana for two days, we were planning on driving to Logar Valley and stay there a night before heading to Lake Bled, but seeing that it's so close to Ljubljana, I wondered if we could just do a long day trip instead. We're a fit couple in our thirties but don't need a tremendously hard hike. Just one that takes in all the views. I also want to do the panoramic road. Is this possible to do? If so, I'd love some help with the itinerary for the day and some recommendations on what to hike and where to eat.

Also, our plans after is to explore the western side of the country. Lake Bled/Bohinj, Triglav National Park, Bovec and Kobarid... We'll have 6 nights over there. Any recommendations will be much appreciated!

Welcome to the Travel Forum! You could do a day trip to the Logarska dolina as a long day trip. It's about 100 minutes in each direction. It works well as a stop on the way to Lake Bled, too; doing it that way has the advantage of seeing different things on the to/from trips. There is a gorgeous drive from Logarska dolina --> up to and through a tiny bit of Austria --> to Zgornje Jezersko --> on to the highway near Kranj. i definitely understand wanting to save a change in lodging, though. Slovenia has a ton to see -- much to choose from for a short stay.

Tourist Farm Govc-Vršnik in Robanov kot has excellent, local, traditional food.
