Cost of a taxi from airport to hotel in Ljubljana

We stayed at Hotel Mrak the first week of April 2025. They arranged for a taxi to meet us that cost 42 Euro for two from the airport to the hotel.

We just arranged a taxi for 4 of us, at $17 each, thru the hotel.

Our rate from airport to the taxi drop off, right in front La Petite Cafe was 40 euros.

Uber is another way to go, since it started operating in Ljubljana just a few months ago.

I emailed the taxi service and their rate was significantly less than the hotels offer or what any of you paid.

The Uber worries me a little. In Ljubljana it isnt "uber" as we know "uber". It is a dispatch company for licensed independent taxi drivers. The fare will be based on a meter. I just dont know how well regulated taxis are in Ljubljana so I tred carefully with independent drivers. I would probably be more comfortable looking for some references for an established local company. Oh, heck, to be honest, if I got ripped off and paid 20euro for a 10euro ride it wouldnt phase me a bit. I'm on holiday after all. But i see no reason to dive into the mouth of the shark either.
