We are going from Ljubljana to Budapest and the train (cheap!) trip is about 8 hours. Has anyone used DayTrip? I know Rick suggests GoOpti but that price is significantly higher. I am thinking about the price vs time issue of 8 hr train vs 5 hr car ride...

We used Day trip in September, 2016, to travel from Ljubljana to Budapest, as you plan to do. I originally found this relatively new company when GoOpti didn't answer our emails. Our young Daytrip driver picked us up at the car rental office and drove us to our Airbnb apartment in Budapest. He was very knowledgeable and courteous, even calling our non English speaking host for us and staying with us until she arrived to let us into our apartment. I can recommend this company; their drivers will also do sightseeing stops along the route if you are interested.

Thanks SharonA! It was easy to book with them and they are about 20% cheaper than OptiGo too.
