bus from Rovinj to Piran?

Hello,
My hope is to travel by bus from Rovinj (Croatia) to Piran in May. According to the Flixbus website, there is a direct bus from Rovinj to Portoroz which is very close to Piran. Has anyone taken a public bus from Portoroz to Piran ? Also, are taxis frequent from Portoroz to Piran? My research indicates that Piran allows very limited car traffic.

Also, does the ferry from Rovinj to Piran run in May? Schedules are not yet available on Liberty Ferries' website.

Many thanks !

Portoroz is the transit hub and there are hourly buses running to Piran. It’s only rwo miles to Piran so a taxi will take you right to the edge of town and drop you off. The whole town is pedestrianized and it’s a relaxing place to stay. After Rovinj, it will seem really relaxing. I stayed at the beachfront Fiesa Hotel years ago and just loved Piran.
Not sure the Rovinj-Piran or Porec-Piran boats run in May. A look at www.Ferryhopper.com doesn’t show anything in May.
Trains from nearby Koper go to Divaca —near the Skocjan Caves—and from there go on to Ljubljana if you’ll be planning to see more of Slovenia.
Have a great trip!

As I recall, the ferry connection here didn’t really exist. Like, it lists the route but never any schedule. No matter, that Flixbus is totally cool. Portoroz is where all the infrastructure centers around, it’s a big old resort town. The public bus runs like every 15 minutes and was maybe a euro to Piran. Super easy. I walked five minutes from where the Flixbus drops you off, there’s a bus stop right in front of Grand Hotel Portoroz. (Not sure I needed to do that either, might have been one closer but I wanted some coffee.) Taxi is not necessary.

You’ll love Piran. Portoroz is just far enough away that the crowds don’t much bother with Piran.
