Biking to Vintgar Gorge

The bike ride from Bled to Vintgar Gorge sounds perfect. But I can't figure out--once there, what do people do with their bikes when they hike in? Thanks for your help!

Hi Tricia. Actually, the bike ride directly from Bled to Vintgar Gorge is fine, but nothing great. Some people do bike to the gorge entrance; we noticed a few locked bikes in the small parking lot at the entrance. Some other context / info:
- when you finish the hike of the actual gorge, you aren't near the entrance, you must take another fairly long hike (2 miles?) to get back to where you started, if you want to go there. For that, you hike uphill for the first mile or so thru the woods to a nice picnic spot with a food stand, then maybe another mile or so back to gorge entrance. Or you can just hike back into town, about the same distance.
- there is some great biking in the area, especially if you have e bikes. On our list to go back, get e bikes again and take a day long ride through the gorgeous hills and mountains. If it's a nice day, scenery is spectacular. Have a great trip!

Vintner gorge is one way.
We got day trip from Bled, which was van there and back with tickets to the gorge. The van picked us up in Bled, drove us there and later picked us up later after hiking out the far side of the gorge through the forest to the small town.

In case anyone is wondering, you definitely should not/cannot bring you bike along on the Vintgar boardwalk hike. When I was planning this out I thought it might be a solution to the 1-way hike problem, but it's not possible.

I agree with what Bob said earlier that there are many beautiful bike routes to ride around in this area, so I wouldn't feel bad about skipping the bike ride to Vintgar. I missed out a biking day due to bad weather, so like Bob I would also love to go back some day and rent e-bikes to do things like Radovna valley, Lake Jasna, Planica, and Lake Fusine/Rifugio Zacchi.

Also- my own 2 cents is that I didn't like Vintgar as much as other sights in the area. It was definitely nice, but not nearly as impressive as Slap Pericnik for example. This might be because I went after several days of heavy rain, which made the water level really high. You'd think this would be good, but it actually just turned it into a really powerful normal river without all the chutes and waterfalls that I think are usually there to see.
