Will be visiting Vintgar Gorge in mid-September. All recommendations say go first thing in the AM or the end of the day to avoid crowds. I can do either. From the standpoint of appreciating the gorge, good lighting and good photos, is either morning or late afternoon better?

I got there close to opening time during high season pre-COVID. I had the gorge almost to myself. I‘m not a photographer, but I got some great photos with my iPhone (at least to my untrained eye).

I was also there pre-Covid, in July. I took a bus from Lake Bled in the morning. There were other people but not at all crowded at first but by mid-morning it got much busier.
