Hi, All. I was thinking of using Sixt for our Slovenia/Croatia trip next May/June, but I've been reading about IdealRENT and how great the company/owner is. Has anyone used IdealRENT? If so, only for Slovenia or into Croatia as well? Looks like they have a shuttle service from various locations to various locations, say from Venice to Ljubljana. Thanks!

Haven't used them but have seen them mentioned on other forums. Search Trip Advisor for them. Personally, I mostly care about price and convenience, now about how great the company or owner might be, as long as the car is acceptable. I would say that when you compare prices vs. say Sixt, compare the total cost of the rental - IdealRENT might offer no one-way drop fee, but the daily rate may be higher than Sixt's.

Hi, Andrew. I read their reviews on TA and they were very positive. You're right, though. It pretty much comes down to cost and convenience for me, too.

Are you tying to do a one-way rental from Slovenia to Croatia or vice versa? (Big drop fee for dropping in another country?) IdealRENT may be worth it, maybe not. The last time someone on TA boasted about the fact that IdealRENT had no drop fee, I noted how much higher the daily rate is. SOMEONE has to drive the car back from Dubrovnik to Slovenia or whatever - not free.

We would rent the car in Ljubljana and drop it off in Split. You're probably right ... that the daily rate will be higher. I'll check that!
