Adventure Companies in Slovenia

Hello,

I am going to Slovenia in June with my 2 daughters and a friend and we are planning to book several "adventure" activities such as canyoning, whitewater rafting, ballooning, etc. and are looking for recommendations for an "adventure company" to work with in Slovenia (Ljublijana, Lake Bled area). I know not everyone on this forum participates in these types of activities, but I got a really great recommendation from this forum when we went to Costa Rica a couple of years ago that we booked with. They were awesome, fun, organized and reasonable. Hoping to find the same for this trip.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I only have experience with companies from the Soca Valley, which is the most popular area for adventure activities in Slovenia. Top Extreme and Soca Rafting are both based in Bovec and I have had a wonderful experience with both (rafting, canyoning, zip line). I don't have personal experience with companies based in Bled or Ljubljana, but 3glav Adventures in Bled has a good reputation and gets excellent reviews.

Thank you so much Dejan. We have a total of 7 nights in Slovenia, with 2 definitely to be spent in Portoroz for some time to relax. Some of the activities we would like to do over the other 5 nights (4 full days really) are whitewater rafting (2 of us to do this while the other 2 do rock climbing), canyoning, ballooning, ziplining, bike tour and a food tour in Ljubljana. I know we won't fit it all in, but they are on the list!

My daughters are 18, so they will also want to squeeze in some nightlife too!

Wow, what a packed list! You certainly won't be able to fit them all in, but even if you manage just half, you'll have a wonderful time. If the girls want to enjoy some nightlife, try to concentrate your nights in Ljubljana - Bled and Bohinj can be done as a day trip and for all those activities, you really may want to visit the Soca Valley and spend a night or two there. You could do something along the lines of Ljubljana (with day trips to Bled and/or Bohinj) - drive to the Soca Valley over Vrsic Pass - do the activities - drive to Portoroz. By late June, Portoroz will be buzzing, too. When there, try to visit the spa in the saltworks for a relaxing experience and make sure to do an afternoon walk along the coast to Piran to catch the sunset!

For the whitewater rafting and ziplining, I definitely recommend you head to the Soca Valley. It has the best rafting in Slovenia and the zip line in the mountains above Bovec (by Zipline Slovenia, I believe) is an experience I will never forget.

We kayaked with Positive sport in Kobarid - there were just the two of us on the day we went in May. We also did a bike tour in Ljubljana - Ljubljanabiketour.com and that was a great time.
