My wife and I are on the Rick Steves Eastern Europe tour ending in Ljubljana on May 31, 2020. I just received an email today that the airline has filed BK. Our intended destination was Amsterdam. Does anyone one have any suggestion what we should do now. I presume that making a claim for a refund will be fruitless. Thanks Jack
Perhaps seeing if you can go through your credit card company? Do you have travel insurance?
If the ticket was charge on a credit card, you have recourse so contact the credit card company. Then find alternate transportation. Even if you have travel insurance, bankruptcy tends to be an excluded item.
Just double checked, “financial insolvency of provider” is covered under my credit card travel insurance. ( Chase Sapphire Reserve). I don’t think OP should assume he/she isn’t covered. Read through the actual coverage that you have. You might be surprised ( always worth checking, anyway)
Transavia (owned by KLM) offers cheap direct flights on the same route but they are a budget airline so make sure to get acquainted with their baggage and check-in policies.
