7 day best-route itinerary to include Ljubljana, Plitvice, Julian Alps and coast

Hello and thank you for any information!

What would be the best route for 7 full days to include the destinations Ljubljana (flying in and out), Plitvice, Julian Alps and either Piran or Istria region on the coast. We have a rental car and just don't know where we should visit first. We REALLY want to go to a flea market on Sunday somewhere!

Slovenia has plenty to see in one week without even crossing the border. I would start from Ljulbjana to the Julian Alps, then Piran to relax after your driving, then you can add Plitvice if you still have time but it's the longest/farthest of your drives. Lakes Bled and Bohinj, the bee museum at Radovljica, and the Skojan Caves are other worthwhile stops in Slovenia. See www.viamichelin.com for some driving time estimates, but allow plenty of time for stops and photo ops in the Julian Alps.

We did Piran and Istria (Rovinj) and wished we wouldn't have bothered with Piran---hard to get to and not nearly as nice as Rovinj. Plus there is the Istrian food and wine and they have a little food market every day. Perfect place. Bled is awesome and the alps drive is wonderful. Plitivices is a water wonderland with best hiking ever. Lucky you!!!
