3 full days--how to manage?

I'm a little afraid I may not have enough time, but hopefully some well-traveled people can help! We'll be getting into Ljubljana from Pula on September 17th around noon, and will have 3 full days before leaving early on the 21st. During the 3.5 days we've got, I would really like to see Lake Bled, the Skocjan Caves, and do the Alps. I obviously would also like to spend 2 half-ish days in Ljubljana. We have the city booked for 2 nights, are planning a night away someone in the Alps, and then will be back in Ljubljana before before heading out on the 21st.

Any suggestions on how to plan this out? Hoping to not make too much of a mess!

I suggest u skip the caves and I assume u mean the Slovenian alps. you will be running from place to place with your schedule. See lake bled then get to the alps same day.

Assuming you have a rental car, depart a bit earlier from Pula and visit the Skocjan Caves. From the Skocjan Caves, do not go to Ljubljana but head through the Vipava Valley into the Soca Valley, explore for the rest of the day and spend the night there. Then cross Vrsic Pass the following morning and go to Ljubljana, being based there until the 21st. Now, you could either visit Lake Bled on another day or on your way to Ljubljana from the Soca Valley. If you want to include a visit to Lake Bohinj as well, it’s a good idea to do it on a separate day. In any case, you’ll still be left with a full day in Ljubljana.

If you’ll be travelling by public transport, go Pula - Skocjan Caves - Ljubljana, the caves are connected to the train network at Divaca by shuttle bus. From Ljubljana then visit Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj, spending the night there and head back to Ljubljana. The Soca Valley is a bit difficult to access without a car, it’s easier to just spend more time at Lake Bohinj.

How long do the caves take? Is this a full dya event or just a couple hours? We're both avid hikers so I doubt it'll be strenuous. Thanks!

So I'm thinking it may make sense to spend most of the day getting in from Pula (we're taking GoOpti) exploring Ljubljana. Spend most of the next day at Bled and Ljublana at night. Then, do the Alps trip highlighted by Rick Steve's in his book, stay overnight in Bovec, and then go to the caves the next morning (maybe leave at 8am and arrive by 10am) before heading back to Ljubljana for our final night.

Does this sound feasible? Seems to me that Bled + the Alps each deserve the better part of their own day. Thanks!

I'm taking GoOpti to Ljubljana. Everything else once in Slovenia will be via a car that I'm going to rent.
