Hi! We are staying two nights in Nova Lesna en route from Cesky Krumlov to Krakow (well, sort of en route). We had looked at the Polish side of the Tatras but were advised that Zakopane et al in June would likely be filled with tourists and hey, why not try Slovakia? We will have a car. My problem is that the only real info I can find on the Slovakian side of the park is for hikers and we are not. A half mile in and a half mile out to see a waterfall is great but me (45, out of shape) and my elderly mom won’t be doing day hikes. So my question is: are there driving routes? We only have one full day there so there’s not a ton of time to fill. Thanks for any advice you can offer! Happy to also take other recs (food, etc.) for that area.
The Dobsinska Ice Cave might be interesting.
You might try Hard Orava on your way. It's one of the most beautiful castles we have seen. They do also offer English tours, check availability. We were in Zakopane in July. It was touristy but a great visit. We hope to go back next summer for a few nights. We have just driven around the High Tatras with no specific plan. There is a ski lift in Tatranska Lomnica near where you are staying. Many times these run in the summers for tourists. Krakow is definitely worth several days if you have it.
