Luggage storage in Bratislava

We want take the boat from Vienna to Bratislava, tour the city and then take the train to Budapest. Any suggestions on where to store our bags for several hours?

It's about 2-3 miles to the train station from the river. The taxi ride out there and back to town twice would be pretty expensive, as their taxi drivers like to take you around the world on the meter.
Why don't you just spend the night in the city. We found it a great place to stop and rest up after a busy time in Budapest. It's a small, quaint city--very high income and high tech.

Can't change itinerary at this point. Are there lockers at the bus station if we take the bus instead to Budapest?

Gee, the bus station is not much closer than the main train station, which BTW, is about 1 1/2 miles from the Twin City Liner dock, assuming that is who you are using. Thats a 30 minute walk if you didn't have bags or packed light. You have to go to the train station anyway to continue to on to Budapest. You could take the tram, but you'll need to research how to do that. There is a tram stop by the dock, but you'll need to change along the way to the No 1 tram that goes to the station. You'd also need some Slovak money to buy tram tickets out of the machine.

Or you could just get a cab and offer the guy a 10 EUR note to take you to the station. He'll probably be chuckling how he took you to the cleaners, but you'll be at the station in a matter of minutes and can store the bags and go. The old part of town is between you and the river, and now it is a 15 minute walk.

Looking at bus because of cost and schedule, not just to store bags. We know about how far the train and bus station are. Still wonder if there are lockers at the bus station.

I am leaving Vienna, taking the train to Bratislava on the way to Budapest at the beginning of Oct.

Just some additional info: Bratislava has 2 train stations. You need to know which one you are taking to Budapest to ensure that you leave your luggage at the same station you are departing from. Info from other posters appears to be referring to Bratislava hl.st. There the luggage storage is on the far left side of the main hall with a lunch break of 12-1230. Lockers are at platform 1 and take specific breaks during the day so you don't want to be caught taking a train when the locker attendant is on break.
