My daughter and I are going to be in Bratislava for just one day this coming May. We would love to see Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum. I am pretty sure we could get an Uber out there but not sure how likely it would be that we would be able to get an Uber to pick us up at a location about 30 minutes from Bratislava. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Many thanks, susan
I can't help with the Uber question. But my "Slovak Spectator" guide to Bratislava (2019 edition) on page 39 says it's a public transport stop for Bus 90. Sadly on page 51 it then contradicts itself: "accessible via car or the No. 91 bus from the SNP bridge to Čunovo--followed by a 4-km walk along the dam. On Sundays during the summer season it is also possible to take a boat trip from Bratislava city centre directly to the island..." Not as helpful as one might hope, but the suggestion is there that it might be reachable by bus. Maybe contact them via their website (https://danubiana.sk/en) to find out?
Oh, wait, they have a whole page on getting there on their website--it is the No. 90 bus, and takes you right there: https://danubiana.sk/en/kontakt/doprava/autobus
Thank you so much for your response. It is much appreciated. We are actually doing a river cruise from Vienna to Bucharest and for some very strange reason the ship is only in Bratislava from 6am to 12:00pm - and the museum doesn't open till 10am. So I guess we will have to be happy with visiting the cute guy in the manhole! I am disappointed it looks like an incredible museum, perhaps another trip another time.
thank you again.
