I am spending 4 days in Glasgow and 3 days in Edinburgh before I zip off to London this June as part of a 21 day UK trip. For various reasons, my time in each city is set in stone. As most of my trip will be in the city, I would like to see some countryside and I have heard only spectacular things about Scotland outside of the cities. I will not have a car, so is it worth giving up a full day in Edinburgh to take a day tour? I am particularly looking at Haggis Adventures, which has several one day options but I would be open to hearing other companies that you enjoyed!
could you not give up one of your days in Glasgow?
Rabbies are well regarded https://www.rabbies.com/en
I have used Rabbies in the past and really enjoyed the one day tour to the Highlands and Loch Ness. I thought it was definitely worth it.
Rabbies also does Highlands tours from Glasgow.
I agree, there's more to see & enjoy in Edinburgh and you only have 3 days there, so why not take a day from your Glasgow stay? If you didn't want to take a guided tour, you could go on your own by train to Balloch, at the southern end of Loch Lomond. There you could take a cruise on the loch as well as enjoying part of the walking trail that goes through the area.
