We plan on visiting Edinburgh soon and looking to do a whisky tasting or local tour within the city.
Are you asking a question? There are a number of whisky tasting locations along the Royal Mile towards the castle. They are all about the same.
I was wondering if there was any highly recommended place for tasting and if a tour was worth it or better just to do a tasting?
I have not been yet but have a trip planned in December. I looking at the following:
https://woodwinters.com/
https://abbeybar.co.uk/
https://smws.com/venues/28-queen-street-edinburgh
https://www.tipsymidgie.com/, have a look at this place ,down a side street at the back of St.Leonards police station (Inspector Rebus connection). only open Thursday -Sunday but has an amazing collection of whiskies and have lots of various events on and tastings at various prices. It is quite a dark place but Colin will give you a great welcome and his knowledge of whisky is amazing.
It only a few steps from the Holyrood distillery the newest one in the area and one I have not done a tour of yet.
