Which Rail Pass?

My wife and I will arrive in Edinburgh via air from Southampton April 28 late morning. We are planning to stay in Edinburgh April 29 and 30.

  • May 1 Edinburgh (or train to Stirling and return to Edinburgh) early evening.
  • May 2 Train Edinburgh to Aviemore and stay the night.
  • May 3 Visit venues near Aviemore then train to Inverness arriving early evening.
  • May 4 Inverness
  • May 5 Train Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh, bus to Portree
  • May 6, 7 Portree
  • May 8 bus to Armadale, ferry to Mallaig, Jacobite Steam Train to Ft. William and stay the night
  • May 9 Visit venues near Ft. William then bus (or train via branch line) to Oban and stay night
  • May 10 Visit venues near Oban (ferry to Isle of Mull?) then train to Glasgow arriving evening
  • May 11, 12, 13 Glasgow
  • May 14 Glasgow (or possibly train to Edinburgh or Stirling and return to Glasgow ) early evening and train to Glasgow Airport.
  • May 15 Flight to US

What Rail Pass will best accommodate our itinerary? Summary: 15 days calendar duration including Highland Main Line, Kyle Line, West Highland Line (including Jacobite Steam Train), buses on Isle of Skye and Edinburgh and Metro in Glasgow.

The Spirit of Scotland Pass ,might be a good call, 8 full days travel within a 15 day period. The May 2 trip to Aviemore could be done by coach ,theres some very spiffy ones running that route and prebooked can be very cheap.
Prebooked well ahead of time Megabus does the Aviemore run from £1.50 min. ,just checked and there's availability
Could you bring me some Graeters ice cream ?
