We will be in Portee for 2 nites the end of May. We're looking for a moderate B&B. The one RS suggests has gotten questionable

You might check with ETBD staff about the B&B that he recommends. TA reviews can be tricky. You get lots of one post wonders posting and you can paid reviews. Also, ETBD might have some updated information. I didn't see any updates online for Skye B&Bs, but they may be able to provide additional insight.
I did stay a number of years ago at The Skye Picture House and enjoyed the stay. It has changed hands, but it looks like the new owners have maintained the place well. It's not in Portree, but it has wonderful location. The view out sitting room is fabulous.

can't recommend a B&B (One we stayed at was not incredible), but do eat at a restaurant along the pier. Can't remember the name (sorry!), but it's a white, 2 story building right across from harbor B&Bs/restaurants (on the Portree town side). Fantastic view from 2nd level, and wonderful food.

It was a few years ago but we enjoyed our stay at the Tongadale hotel. It's on the main street but I don't remember street noise being a problem. Room was basic but clean and breakfast was good.
We stayed at a B&B called Quairaing in Portee in 2008. It is on the edge of town but an easy walk. We were very happy with it. It was booked for us thru our Rabbies tour. That's been awhile but if it's still there you might want to check it out.
We have stayed at Peinmore House every time we have gone to Skye, which is every trip! We love Don & Margaret. They have both B&B or self-catering choices. We loved the self-cvatering. They are right before you get into Portree. And while there - eat at Harbour Inn Seafood.
