What to see between Glasgow and Spean bridge then onto Edinburgh

Hi all,

We will be staying in Glasgow 1 night and hopefully will not be too jet lagged to explore. The next day we head to a Spean Bridge to 2 nights. We have a photography class we will be taking at Ballachulish so we will have time to see that area one day.

What should we stop and see on the route from Glasgow to Spean Bridge? We like nature, old architecture, shopping and good food. Not drinkers really.

What route and stops would you recommend from Spean Bridge to Edinburgh?

Thanks in advance,

Michelle

The best way to get to Spean Bridge from Glasgow is to take the train over the remote Rannoch Moor with superb views

A couple places I have saved to see include The Meeting of Three Waters/the Glencoe Waterfall and Rannoch Moor Viewpoint. Both are along the A82. Since Harry Potter came out, the Glenfinnan Viaduct has been popular. Nearby is the Loch Shiel Viewpoint.

Between it and Edinburgh possible places to stop at might include, Queen's View Visitor Centre, Drummond Castle Gardens, Doune Castle, The National Wallace Monument, The Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre, The Falkirk Wheel, The Kelpies, Linlithgow Palace, Forth Bridge, Dunfermline Abbey and the tomb of Robert the Bruce, it’s really up to you, want you like to visit, and how much time you have.
