We’re flying into Edinburgh Airport and wondering whether we could Uber to our hotel in Glasgow and how much it might cost. Also what are the train and bus alternatives?
Hi, B&K Travelers,
There is direct bus service from EDI to Buchanan Street Bus Station in Glasgow. From there you can take a taxi to your lodging in Glasgow. Both Megabus and Citylink serve the route, with Megabus being slightly cheaper.
You can take an Uber. Currently, it would cost between 70 and 105 pounds, depending on what type of car you prefer.
If you wanted to take the train, you'd have to take a bus or tram into Edinburgh, and take the train to Glasgow from there. It would be the least timely of your options.
Safe travels!

There is a bus (coach) from the Edinburgh Airport to Glasgow. Follow the signs to the bus after you have gone through passport control and luggage retrieval. I don’t remember the cost but it was reasonable (maybe 20-30 GBP?). You can pay the bus driver using credit card.

Glasgow You can travel to and from Glasgow using the Citylink AIR Glasgow Service 900 and the Citylink 902 Coach.

Citylink AIR Glasgow 900

Departing up to every 30 minutes, 8am to 7pm, and departing every hour, midnight to 5am (check timetable for full daily departures)*
Average journey time = 1 hour
Located at Stop D
*From 17 May 2025, the service will depart every 20 minutes.
You can check up to date ticket prices on the Citylink website.
A lot of googled misinformation above.
Firstly Megabus and City link do not operate in competition, it is a code shared service.
If you buy ahead on Megabus you are tied to that departure. There is very ample capacity, just buy on the bus.
The service 900 only runs overnight, by day it is the service AIR.
Don't take the #902- that is a local service which runs hourly and takes two hours to make the journey.
it may be incorrect - I don't know - but surely it is not misinformation which implies intent.
I'd either call it incorrect or wrong, leaving out the passion.
We are encouraged to be unfailingly polite. I know that we try.
Nicely put Nigel!!
