We are booked for the April 11-23, 2023, Best of Scotland Tour. I'm studying the itinerary and looking at ideas for our free time. It appears that we will have some free time to explore from Oban. I'm interested in the trip out to Staffa. Would welcome your thoughts about taking that excursion and other things to do in Oban. I have seen many folks say they loved Oban.

Hi Betsy, we did the three island tour out of Oban and loved it. The Puffins on Staffa let you get so close to them!
Oban has a pretty harbour area, but not much to keep it interesting for a full day. I'd choose a tour of Staffa.
The three island tour does’t make sense in your situation, having visited two of the three islands the day before. Staffa is the island you missed, but you will be retracing much of your route from the day before to add this back on. I’d love to see RS tours give tour members the option to see Mull, Iona, and Staffa all on the same day.
I might consider taking a different route on your free day.

Yes, agree it would be nice to do all three in the same day. I really want to visit Staffa, but doing a bit more reading, it looks like we would indeed have to retrace our steps from the day prior. Will have to consider if that is worth it. Thanks for the info.
