Visiting New Lanark

Hello, we are planning a trip for 2022 and after visiting the UNESCO site, we're curious about New Lanark. It looks as though it would be an easy train ride from Glasgow making this, perhaps, a 1/2 day or full day trip. Comments, suggestions for other sites nearby? Thanking everyone in advance.

New Lanark is a fascinating place to visit. It is about half an hour walk from Lanark station and there are direct trains from Glasgow Central. A full day might be an idea as you could then do a walk to the Falls of Clyde. If you wanted a half day there is David Livingstone's birthplace (NTS) near the railway station at Blantyre. However you will need to change trains.

We went there several years ago and found it to be one of the most interesting places I've ever visited. They have made many improvements while keeping all the historic buildings intact. There are overnight accommodations and full service and casual dining. It would be a full day experience for sure. www.visitscotland.com is a good gateway site for UNESCO sites as well as other useful Scottish Tourist info.
