Visiting England with a small party of friends

Hello, we are planning a visit to the Isles next october for 11/12 days.
We'll arrive Edinburgh and stay for 3 nights there (our original plan was 2 nights in Dublin and 2 in Edinburgh).
then by train to Kendal to visit some rugby friends. Stay around there for 3 nights and last to London for 4 or 5 nights.
My concern is if is too much 3 nights in Edinburgh.
Any advice?

Also, we are all around 50 and although we love a nice hotel we are flying on a budget.
What are your advice about lodging in Edinburgh and London?
We are thinking about a nice hostel but with a private room (with a bathroom).

Any input will be appreciated

PS: As always, excuse my grammar

Edinburgh is a wonderful city - and 3 nights would amount to 2 full days. I vote for 3 or more nights rather than 2.

We stayed at A-haven B&B in Edinburgh. Took a bus from the airport, then a bus for the short ride to the B&B. There’s a bus stop right out of it. Rosslyn chapel (seen in the da Vinci Code) is about a 40 minutes bus ride from town. If you like castles, in addition to Edinburgh castle, Craigmiller castle is a short bus ride and walk away. The port area where the former royal yacht is moored is a short walk from it too. There are plenty of things to do to occupy 3 days and nights.

Thanks to both. I'm Ok with my english but I know that often I do wrong with it. Thanks anyway.

It's a go, 3 nights in Edinburgh, 3 more in Kendal and then London.

As always a pleasure to visit the site.
