Traveling to Scotland at end of month and am hoping some of you have gone to Staffa and Fingals Cave. if so, which tours did you use and was it worth it? It seems like it would be wonderful - sites, photography- if the weather cooperates. Thank you! Audrey
I did the Three Isles Tour with West Coast Tours out of Oban. It made for a fun and long day.
As you know, Staffa will close mid-August so I'm glad you are able to get there before then.

We took the boat that left from Iona and docked on the Mull side afterwards. It was a highlight of our month long trip! The hike to the cave was fun though there is a roped off section due to rock damage at the stairway into the cave that you have to navigate. Then the walk to the puffin nesting area was beautiful and the puffins flew up from the waves by the dozens and plopped next to us before darting onto their burrows. Loved every minute of it. The boat ride was fun with good weather the day we went. Saw some seals and birds. We were there in May.
Another vote for the Three Isles Tour with West Coast Tours. I toured this past May and it was WELL worth it! I will admit that I didn't venture down to Fingal's Cave as my priority was viewing the puffins, and did I ever get to view them!
At that time there were two tours a day; the early bird left around 7:30 and returned at 6. The other tour lasted from approximately 10 to 8:15.
I took a Staffa Tour (I was staying on Mull and that was the most convenient) although sadly we were unable to land on Staffa due to the weather and water conditions. That happens occasionally, so it's usually a good idea to schedule these tours at the beginning of your stay, just in case you need to reschedule.
