Visit to Clava Cairns

Our visit to Clava Cairns was cancelled because of the weight of the bus. I really want to see that area. Are there other ways we could go there on our "free day in Inverness" - other small tour companies we could use for the day??

I took the public bus to Culloden Field and then walked to Clava Cairns. It was about a half-hour walk. If I remember right some one gave me a lift back to the battlefield where I caught the bus back into town.

I am guessing you mean on the tour - maybe on your own though? We were notified that the tour was cancelling that stop and we wanted to see it as well, but found we really didn't have that much free time in Inverness - or anyplace else on this tour. We were rushed in some spots and I really felt that they could add a day or two to allow more free time to explore the areas on our own. This was our second RS tour and was far more packed with places to stop and very little time on our own.

I checked Rome2Rio and they showed the two bus routes to get to the Culloden battlefield and then walking to Clava Cairns. It also shows approximate taxi fares. I was disappointed also it had been dropped from the tour. I am hoping I can find other people interested going on my RS tour next month so we can split the taxi fare.....or maybe bus one way, taxi the other.
