My first trip to Scotland and we applied and were approved for ETA. Do we have to self attest to Delta airlines that we have that visa on our passports? I was under the impression it was electronically applied to our passport and we would not have to do anything else. Please advise me on this.
Just returned from Scotland.
eTA is attached to passport and you need to do nothing else.
It isn’t a visa. It is just a travel authorization.
I am not sure what you mean by “self attest”. You aren’t supposed to have to show the airline anything; however, you might want to keep the approval email handy. Someone reported that an airline agent asked them about this at check in.
FWIW, I was not asked for anything on my United flight to the UK. I saved the approval in my mail archive just so I have a record of when my ETA expires.
In April this year, Iceland Air boarding agent in Seattle asked for our proof of ETA confirmation. I showed them my email of the confirmation. My DW couldn't locate her email and after a short time they waved us through.

Two weeks ago, American Airlines agent in Seattle told me I could not board my flight to London if I did not show her proof my ETA had been approved. Showing my email sufficed.
YMMV.
