I never bothered with VAT refunds in Scotland until this year. I submitted my request for approx. 100 British pounds but in the end received only 40 British pounds.
I found a variety of discussions online but everyone says something different. Does anyone know the details of the VAT refund scheme specific to Scotland? I know there is a processing fee but it shouldn't have been for that much.
I know that food and hotels are excluded and that there are minimums per merchant but I am not sure what they are.
