Trying to find a calendar of festivities in Scotland for the period of time I will be visiting.

Have not had success, so must to using wrong key words! Of course a MUST will be listening to bagpipes.....I find them very haunting and can not miss them. Any folk festivals...music, dance, games? Anything else I must not miss? Thanking you in advance.

On the Visit Scotland website look especially at the page on Highland Games. If you can work one into your itinerary I highly recommend it. We spent the day at the pitlochry games and had a fantastic time. Pipe bands, traditional dance competitions, men in kilts, food trucks and more.

Clever of you to think of this advance! I've just planned three weeks in Scotland and have just discovered the festivals occurring during our stay will be on opposite ends of the country from where I've booked lodging! Wish I had thought of this sooner - kudos to you!

Website This Is Edinburgh sends a monthly newsletter for upcoming events, tickets, festivals, concerts etc. Other similar resources available at city/town focused tourism websites. Once you have an itinerary, go to town websites to see what is happening there during your visit.

Also don’t forget to check out church websites in areas you might visit. We found free concerts at some churches.
